Program Overview
The Reality Early Career Professionals Are Navigating
Show moreEarly in a career, growth is often measured by what you produce, what you solve, and how quickly you learn. Leadership can feel like something that comes later, after a title changes.
But leadership is already taking shape.
It shows up in how you respond to uncertainty, receive feedback, contribute in meetings, collaborate with peers, and handle pressure. These patterns are forming now, whether or not anyone is calling them leadership.
The challenge is not a lack of ambition or potential. It is that self-awareness, confidence, and situational awareness are rarely developed intentionally before someone is expected to lead others.
I Lead Me creates that opportunity earlier — helping you understand how they show up, strengthen how they work with others, and become more intentional about the leader they are already becoming.
Who This Is For
- Early career professionals who want to build a strong foundation for how they lead themselves and work with others.
- High-performing professionals already showing early signs of leadership — mentoring peers, taking initiative, contributing beyond their immediate responsibilities, or being sought out for input.
- Professionals navigating the shift from focusing primarily on their own work to becoming more aware of how their communication, presence, and decisions affect the people around them.
- Those who want greater confidence and clarity in how they show up — in meetings, through feedback, during collaboration, and under pressure.
What You'll Walk Away With
Show moreI Lead Me helps you apply self-leadership to the real situations they are navigating in their work — from meetings and feedback, cross-team collaboration, and moments of pressure.
Through coaching, reflection, and practice, participants leave with:
Greater self-awareness: A clearer understanding of the patterns, assumptions, and instincts shaping how they respond and make decisions.
More confidence and self-trust: Especially when speaking up, receiving feedback, or navigating uncertainty.
Stronger situational awareness: The ability to look beyond their own task list and better understand team dynamics, different perspectives, and what the moment requires.
Greater influence without authority: Contributing ideas, building trust, and working effectively with others without relying on a formal title.
A stronger foundation for continued growth: Becoming more intentional about how they lead themselves, connect with others, and contribute to the work around them.
A Coaching-Led Learning Experience
Show moreI Lead Me is designed as a coaching-led experience, not a traditional training program.
Rather than being taught a fixed set of answers, participants are guided to reflect, explore different perspectives, and work through the leadership challenges emerging in their own experience.
The learning adapts to the needs of the group and the situations participants are navigating. Participants also learn from one another—sharing experiences, testing new perspectives, and building insight together.

More Information
At the core of I Lead Me is Energy Leadership™—a methodology that helps participants become more aware of how they show up, what shapes their reactions, and how those patterns affect the way they communicate, collaborate, and make decisions.
Through the Energy Leadership Index™ assessment and a personalized debrief, participants gain insight into the mindsets influencing their confidence, behavior, and responses—especially in moments of pressure, uncertainty, or self-doubt.
With greater awareness, they build more choice in how they respond, strengthen trust in themselves, and become more intentional in how they contribute and work with others.
We design each group session to reflect the real-time challenges and priorities of the cohort.
The topics below are examples of areas explored through both group sessions and individual coaching conversations. Each participant applies the learning directly to situations they are navigating in their work, from building confidence and finding their voice to collaborating with peers and responding under pressure.
Because the experience is adaptive, the final emphasis is shaped by what participants and the group bring into the room. Topics may include:Most leadership development works on behavior. We work on the leader — going beyond role and responsibility to the core of what shapes how people lead. Self-leadership sits at the center: the foundation for presence, influence, and sustained impact.
We help leaders understand how their energy — how they show up, especially under pressure — shapes everything around them. When that shifts, alignment strengthens, influence expands, and performance follows.
NKL is a coaching-based leadership development practice partnering with organizations navigating growth, cultural shifts, and key transitions. We work across the United States and Europe and have supported more than 800 leaders across corporate, nonprofit, and higher education environments. anewkindof.org
